CONGRATULATIONS!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
My sister Erica and her fiance Nick are now homeowners!!! They closed on their 1st home on Thursday!!! Everyone is very excited for them!! They are closer to me now, just off of Barry Rd and I-29!!! :) Now we get to fix it up just the way they want it!!!

I picked up Erica's dress on Wednesday!!! It's so pretty!! The wedding plans are coming together!! Too exciting!!!

Everyone in the family is good and doing well!!! Stay safe in all this snow!!

Laser

Monday went really well!! We were there for a total of four hours!! I have never been leaving a doctor's office at 7PM!!! I probably wouldn't mind if I hadn't worked the night before!! They injected his eye to numb it up, I actually had a hard time watching that one!! I guess because he's my baby!! :) The laser took really well!!! He only had to patch it for 2 hours afterward so we stayed in and ordered pizza and watched the KU game!! He was surprisingly feeling really good!!! We go back on Monday afternoon, we'll see how it goes then!!

staying busy!!

My mom is doing well after her surgery!! Moving around a little slow but keeping up with that pain medication!! Took her to get her stitches out on Wednesday!! So far so good!!!

Pat met with the cardiologist on Wednesday and had his echo completed on Thursday!! Too many scheduling errors with this one!!! I officially hate St Luke's Barry Rd!! They are way too unorganized!!! We get the report in a week!! I hate this part!! I'm used to reading it 10mins later!!! (deep breath)

Eye doctor on Friday went okay. That PVR condition that he has is causing more problems at the base of his eye. Monday we go back to have some more laser treatment to tack down his retina and prevent any further detachment or tears!! Hope it goes well!!!

Little Sadie is at our home this week!! Pats parents went to San Fransico and then on to Napa!! Lucky!!! They return mid next week!! Dexter loves having Sadie over!!!

Not a whole lot going on with me!! I got my car serviced and they figured out my leaky tire had a nail in it!! good to know!! Squeezed in a hair appointment!! Finally squared away our gym membership!!! Things have been pretty crazy lately!! I'm more than ready for a day of absolutley nothing to do!!!!

Happy Valentines Day!!!

I can't believe we have been engaged for a year today!:)!! So much has happened since then, but I still remember every detail of that day!! I would love to be back on that beach!!! 1 year to go till our wedding!!! [If we can make it that long ;)] Every once in awhile we discuss eloping! Haha!! I just can't imagine my life without him in it!!

Pat's eye is doing much better!! He's feeling great compared to last week!!! What are the odds that he would begin to feel better when I go back to work?? That's okay, I am so happy that he is feeling better and I can't wait for him to get some vision back!! In a way, we were blessed with his downsize at work, I don't think that they would be very lenient with this much time off!!

My mom is doing great after her back surgery!! She is tentatively scheduled to go home from the hospital today!!! I'm excited for her and nervous all at the same time!! I just worry about her a lot!! I don't want her to over do it!! It's weird how much you get choked up about loved ones going into surgery!! I don't think I can handle another one!!! I'm sure it doesn't help with my job environment!! Too much knowledge can be a bad thing!!!

Things are starting to turn around for us!!

Unfortunately, Pat's parent's kitty kat Leo passed away unexpectedly today. He was being treated for a very severe kidney infection and went into cardiac arrest at the vet's office. My thoughts and prayers go out to them. We get so close to our pets, its just devastating to lose one.

We finally got some results from the doctor today!! Pat has a cyst in the sinus cavity below his eye. Most people have these and it never causes a problem. For his to be so painful it is likely infected or is blocking the drainage mechanism and retaining mucus. Add another appointment to Thursday's agenda, we will be seeing an ENT to go over some treatment methods, I don't know what they will decide, some have surgery some are able to alleviate the symptoms with antibiotics. We'll see.


My moms surgery went well today!!! She is recovering at St Lukes on the Plaza and will be there for the next 5-7 days!! She was hitting her morphine PCA button and dozing off as we left!! Feeling pretty good now, we'll see tomorrow how she's feeling!!! Thanks for all the support and kind wishes!!!

Impatiently waiting

Well, we're still waiting on all of Pat's results. Hopefully we will find out something today!!I take that back, we will find out something today or I will be pissed. I'm too impatient!! I'm used to seeing results immediately and someone who is in this much pain, it infuriating!! I regret not taking him to the ED!!

Today, we are going to visit my mom in the hospital. She's in surgery right now, I'm on pins and needles wanting to hear how it went. It has been a tense vacation!!! I'm ready for a beach trip as soon as everyone feels better!!!

just a little update!!

Well we had all the lab work done today. Pat has lost over 30 lbs in a month. I'll be curious to see those results!! Going for a ct of his sinuses and his head today along with a chest xray. His pain has not decreased at all with the antibiotic. Hopefully they read those quickly and fill us in on what may be causing it. Tomorrow we go for an echo at 2. busy busy.

Pat's appointment went really well today!! His eye looks great!! The pain he is experiencing is believed to be from a very severe sinus infection, hopefully with some antibiotics we can get rid of it!! We'll go back on Thursday next week. He gets his lab work and chest xray Monday and Tuesday he's getting an echo. Staying busy!!

Today, I went with my sister and my mom to find a wedding dress for Erica!!! We actually had tons of fun!! Once I put those saleswomen in their place, we were able to sort through them and we finally decided on the perfect dress!!! It's so pretty!!! It's a Maggie Sottero and its called Bliss!!! Its perfect and beaded and floaty and laces in the back!!! We love it!!!

Hanging out with Sarah!!!

She's so cute!! We had a chance to visit with little miss sarah today! (aka Squeaks)!! Too funny!! Its so fun to see how big they get so fast!! She has the prettiest blue eyes!! Looks just like her daddy!!! When I held her, she was out like a light!! When poor Pat held her, she was screaming!! Uncle Pat just didn't know what to do!! He'll get the hang of it!! She loves his voice though, the minute he stopped talking she would get fussy! She loves her Uncle Pat!!

Finally good news!!

Pat is doing much better on the Diamox for his pressure!! He actually smiled last night!! We see the doctor again on Friday in Liberty. He has a physical tomorrow to see if we can pinpoint why he's having all of these eye problems, we have an idea of what is possibly causing it but will have to get it verified by a geneticist.
Sandy is doing great after her cataract surgery! She's at home recuperating well and taking it easy. Tomorrow is her bday!! Laura's coming in to town with little Sarah!! Pat is really excited, hopefully I'll get some good pics!!
Tonight we're getting together with my family for dinner. Pat requested my mom's enchiladas!! I can't wait, I love my mom's cooking!! I miss it!!! She's in the process of reorganizing her house before her back surgery next week, I plan on trying to help her over the weekend. I have a feeling she'll already have it done!! She's a beast, painted her dining room yesterday!! too funny!!

Just a little update

Things are moving along. Pat's appointment went really well yesterday only to wake up at 4 am today with excruciating pain. His pressure is up again so he's back on the medications. I really wish we could control his pain better. Poor guy can't do anything comfortably.
I am off of work until next Wednesday!! I couldn't be more excited!! Its quiet around the house today but I haven't cleaned anything in forever!! Working 48 and 60 hours every week has left the place pretty dirty!! So I have a chance to catch up!!
Pat's mom is having cataract surgery today. I need to call and check on her!!! I'll go do that!
Otherwise things are good, enjoying some much needed time off. When his meds kick in maybe we'll be able to get out of the house together!! I am officially sick of cold weather!! So I really don't mind being stuck here!!
