Time flies

I am currently sitting here at work thinking about how fast time flies!! Soon, it will be 2009!! I have high hopes that 2009 will be fun!!
2009 is bringing new babies and happy homes and weddings!!
My sister is getting married this year!! How crazy, I still remember when they first met senior year of high school!

Just the other day they celebrated 6 years together!! It is finally sinking in that its going to happen in June!! They have been engaged for the past year and a half!! I can't wait!! (i better start working out again)

Patrick's sister Laura is at the hospital in labor down in Columbia. He can't wait to go see her. Hopefully, he'll hold off so I can go too!!

I was thinking earlier when we were on the phone "Does this mean I'm going to be an aunt???"....I don't feel like an aunt... I guess its not as fun when when its not on paper.

I wonder if we will ever get married :)

Merry Christmas!!

Life has been entirely different from previously with Pat now at home. It's so much fun!! I never realized how little I actually saw him until now!!! I never want him to go back to work!! Things are better now!! At first it was a little frustrating, to come home after working all weekend and your roommate did nothing but watch football!! He has finally come around, he cooks and cleans, is completing some projects like the garage, that we just hadn't had time to get to before. Its really nice!! Yes he still play a ton of video games but I think I would too if I had that much free time!!!
Anyway, now we are just getting ready for christmas!!! Everyone is coming over on Christmas eve and then I go to work on the night of Christmas day!!

One day at a time

Well for those who haven't heard yet. Poor Pat got laid off on Friday from Superior Lexus. I think his ego was alittle bruised at first, I just had to remind him that in times like these alot of people are losing their jobs, its strictly business and not at all performanced based! He knows that, and is doing fine now. I took off of work on Friday night and spent some time with him and his friend Matt (okay, I was the designated driver!! :) He had the opportunity to watch football for 6 hours on Saturday and then more on Sunday and today is playing video games!!!
Yes, he did file for unemployment. We just didn't know how soon anyone would hire someone right before Christmas. I guess we'll see, but it will probably be after the 1st of the year before any interviews start up. We will keep everyone posted!!! Everything is up in the air right now, but we are doing fine!! So far it has been nice to just see him this often!!! Our schedules have been so random and crazy lately that coming home Monday morning and seeing Pat was really exciting!! We never get to spend this much time together!!!! Unless we're on vacation!!! :) Keep your fingers crossed that maybe he gets a job before February and I can still go to the beach!!!!! wink wink!!!!

Well I am finally getting around to posting some pics!! The first one is of Pat at Buffalo Wild Wings! (I'm posting it just to embarrass him!)! We are addicted and we started inviting everyone our every Tuesday night so we all get together!!! Maybe next week I can manage a group pic!!
Next is of some of our christmas decor!! We finally got the lights completed with the help of our neighbors ladder!!! It was a nightmare!!! :)

Congratulations go out to Javier and Latrice Garcia who delivered 2 healthy beautiful little twin boys on Dec. 1, 2008 at 1836 and 1837!!!! Jacob Javier Garcia (5 lbs 1 oz and 17.5 inches) and Joaquin Andres Garcia (5 lbs 8 ozs and 18.5 inches)!!!

SO cute!!! :)

Here Come the Holidays!!

This past week Pat & I started on some Christmas decorating!! I love decorating for the holidays!! I had been so upset because I couldn't find any of my fall decor after the move!! Found it!! It was underneath all of my Christmas stuff!! I was so mad!! Anyway, I'm going to finish up some more decorating when I get off of work and hopefully post some pics!! We attempted to put up some lights outside the house but it is just way too steep above the driveway to get them all tacked up. I think we might just hire some professionals, I don't want Pat killing himself trying to do it from the roof!! He's way too uncoordinated to handle that one :)!!!
I'm at work right now and was just writing the date for some paperwork tomorrow, I cannot believe it is already December 1st!! This past year has flown by!! The holidays always fly by as well with all of the shopping and parties! Also between Pat and I's families we have a lot of birthdays in the winter!!
Pretty soon it will be February and Pat and I will have been engaged for a whole year!! Maybe I should start planning that wedding.... ;) Vegas anyone??

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving was the best ever this year!!! I love turkey, I will eat the leftovers everyday until I can't even think about turkey for another year!!! Pat and I went over to my parents house and celebrated thanksgiving!! I was fun and casual. My grandfather made it!! Today is his birthday, he is 89 years old, still driving and still tells jokes that make sense!!! I would say he's doing great!! He loves Dexter and Dex is game to sit in anyone's lap for hours on end, they were two peas in a pod!
In the evening, Pat and I went down to the Plaza to view the lighting!!! The weather was perfect!! We parked over by the art institute and walked over, drinking hot chocolate!!! SO much fun!!!
Then we went over to visit with Pat's parents and called it a night!! Perfect food, companionship, and weather!!!! Hope everyone had a happy thanksgiving!!!

Ready for Thanksgiving!!!

We are so ready for turkey on Thursday!!! I love Thanksgiving and I am so glad to be off of work this year!! I really got lucky this year because it ends up that I am off Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years!(thats a first)!!
I finally got the photos from the housewarming party!! We had so much fun!! I posted some pics of the landscaping that we had done out front as well, the little bushes and trees are so cute!!
Other than that things have been pretty slow around here without the endless list of projects. I have been studying (when I'm not out shopping) and Pat has been doing what Pat does best, nothing :). We did work on some leaf raking last week and puppy had a blast!!!

Happy Veterans Day!!

I had the pleasure of being at work today for Veterans day!! I love the flags that they place all along the hill as you drive up the building!! It's beautiful, even on a cold dreary day like today!!
The housewarming party was so much fun on Sunday!! I think everyone there had a blast!! Thank you everyone for coming out and for the handful of thoughtful gifts!!! We are so blessed to have such great friends and family!!! Pat's sister couldn't make it b/c she's on bed rest and I ask that everyone reading this say a little prayer for the baby, who has a narrowing in its ittybitty aorta. We all have high hopes that it will correct itself but he/she might have to have surgery if it doesn't.
Things are finally starting to slow down at home!! I finished my review course for the CCRN test today, barely b/c I came down with some freakish 24 hour flu and had to go home early Monday!! I'm feeling much better today, Pat made me soup last night but before that I couldn't keep anything down!! The class went really well today. I'm almost overwhelmed at the amount of information on it but I plan on diving into studying this winter. Hopefully, I can take the test in the next 90 days, but with the holidays coming up I might have to put in on hold for awhile. We'll see. We have lots of good pics from the party, just not on my camera!! I needs to go around with my flash drive and get them from everyone!!! That's all for now!! Stay warm!!!

i can't believe it's november!!!

This year has just flown by!! The leaves on the trees in the neighborhood are finally looking pretty and then they fall!! I posted a few pics that I took on Dex & I's walk the other morning!! It's so nice out, I don't want it to get cold!!!





I finally went to use my gift certificate and found an absolutely stunning watch!! I had to own it the minute I saw it!!! It's so pretty, real diamonds ladies, and the straps are interchangable so I got 2 extras!! Can't wait to wear it this week!!!



The pets are good, the kitties seem to always be next to one another!! The other day they sat on the counter while I grabbed stuff to eat at work. It was so cute!!
Puppy seems to find a bug to play with and eat everytime we go outside!!! He loves to run and play in the backyard!!! Its so funny to watch him!!
THings are good, between work and decorating we have kept busy!! I really can't wait to be done!! We are getting the landscaping wrapped up this week and finishing putting stuff on the walls. Pat finally has decided how he wants to decorate his basement!! I have faith that it will turn out really cool, I know he's excited and is thinking alot about it!! That's about it, hope everyone is doing well!!
